Light Commercial Use***
Everlast Epoxy Décor Floor is not just a paint. You can get that at any 'ole hardware store. Everlast Epoxy Décor Floor will not flake and peel as quickly as other epoxy floor paint because it is a three-coat system made of a heavy-duty epoxy bond coat, a tough urethane intermediate coat and a clear, hard, stain and hot-tire resistant urethane topcoat.

 Everlast Epoxy Décor Floor is not like the water-based stuff that you can find everywhere else. Yes, you will want to ventilate the room you are working in. We do not compromise the quality of your floor by diluting it down with water. Too many epoxy floors available on the market today are "water-based". The companies claim that this is to make it easier to install, as you can clean the tools with water, as well as you can apply the floor in a non-ventilated closed room. What is really going on? Well, in order to cut the cost of the product, an "emulsifier" is added to allow the epoxy to be able to mix the epoxy with water (it does not naturally blend with water, much like oil and water do not mix).

 What else this does is allow the epoxy to cost the manufacturers less (water is FREE). In order to apply the bond coat with a paint roller, it needs to be thinner than unmodified epoxy. Epoxy solvents cost lots of money. So manufactures created this "water-based" product which is not NEAR as good as the real stuff. The "emulsifier" they add is an additive which also weakens the floor, this has to be added to allow water to mix with epoxy. You'll NEVER find emulsifier or water in Everlast Epoxy Décor Floor. You decide - smell the epoxy (it's not too bad) and ventilate the room while applying it, or use the stuff diluted with water and have a floor that wont last near as long.

 If solvent is an issue, as your room does not have ventilation, you need our Everlast Floor. This has no solvents (it does not need them as the bond coat is troweled not rolled on).

 ***If you are needing a floor for a pet care facility, Everlast Epoxy Décor Floor is not for you, you need our Everlast Floor instead as cats and dogs can scratch Everlast Epoxy Décor Floor, causing it to peel. If you are looking for a solution for a commercial kitchen, then Everlast Epoxy Décor Floor is not for you, you need Everlast Floor instead as it will hold up to the abuse of a kitchen environment. If you are looking for flooring for a public restroom, or any commercial facility that gets alot of traffic and/or abuse, you need Everlast Floor instead. Everlast Epoxy Décor Floor is designed for residential and LIGHT commercial use.

UV Resistant
There is no such thing as a UV resistant epoxy. UV rays from the sun turn epoxy yellow. An epoxy floor exposed to sunlight will always eventually "amber" (turn yellow). There are additives that can absorb UV rays, but once the absorbers are "full" they are no longer effective. So epoxy can be made to be UV resistant for a few months, but never for a long time. There are also UV blocking additives, but these additives break down over time (from the sun's UV rays, the same thing their supposed to be protecting your floor from).

  Some manufacturers get really fancy and use both, but the absorbers will still get full and the blockers will still break down. Another myth is that a clear coat of urethane will protect your floor from turning yellow from the sun. It's true that the urethane wont turn yellow, but your floor still will because of the epoxy underneath the urethane. The sun goes thru the clear urethane, and yellows the epoxy.

 Here is how we avoid that: we use a colored urethane. Everlast Epoxy Décor Floor is an epoxy bond coat (because urethane does not create a good bond coat), then an intermediate coat of urethane - the same color as the epoxy. This does two things for you;
 1. Keeps your floor from turning yellow in the sun.
 2. Two coats provide better coverage than One. So when we say our 250 square foot kit will give you 250 square feet of coverage, it really will. Then, there is a third clear coat of urethane to give your floor a cleanable, chemical resistant finish. This is why Everlast Epoxy Décor Floor is a perfect exterior flooring solution.
